what's happening (news, events and other things)
Several complaints came to me lately with regards to certain issues – I would like to clarify the following once again. Please remember that we all want to enjoy the hour spend with our dogs at training. Agility training is to learn agility – it is NOT an entertaining hour for stimulation only and/or the weekly socialization class. Please keep in mind.
1. The first class MUST BE THERE 15 minutes before the time to help pack out – it is not fair to expect the trainers to unpack the whole trailor – it takes a lot of time – if you are not there to help unpack, don’t expect an hour lesson as half of this time the trainers use to unpack because there is no help! Some people don’t even know where the poles are kept! 2. Scoop the pooh – please bring pooh bags. We are at school grounds. It is your responsibility to pick up after your dog. 3. Your dog should be on lead AT ALL TIMES!! If another class are busy, please respect their training. Stay out of the way until they are finished as you are disrupting the class / take away attention of the other dogs when you set up close by. If you are finished with your class, make sure you crate your dog or keep the dog firmly on lead! 4. Please try to practice at home – you don’t need money to buy equipment – you can use initiative to build stuff and all the foundation work are without equipment – the dogs will never go onto the contacts if they can not even get the stay and release correct, or don’t know what is “box” – stay and release are basic obedience – please practice what we give you to practice as much as you possibly can. This is the only way your dog will progress. 1 hour every Saturday is not enough to really learn to do agility. We spend way too much time on stuff which the dog’s should have been able to do long time ago. Make it fun and enjoy the time with your dog at home whilst training – you will be surprised how well behaved they become and what strong bond forms between you and your k9 friend. Thanks guys – I know I can rely on you. Please remember to let me know ideas re: new vineyard clothing! Either we buy our own black jackets and we put a vineyard badge on, or we can have it all made for us. New shirts also needed – please send ideas!
